Sydney will host the world’s leading mining and investment forum when Mines and Money launches its inaugural event in Australia in October.
Mines and Money Australia is coming to Sydney on 10-12 October 2011 with conference and exhibition on the first two days and post- conference workshop on the 12th, extending the global mining and investment annual programme that now includes events in Hong Kong, Beijing and the London flagship programme.
In Sydney, the Mines and Money Australia Conference and Exhibition will draw on the global investor database of its worldwide series to match Australian mining companies with domestic and international capital.
The event is set to welcome over 80 Australian and international mining exhibitors looking to meet with fund managers, institutional investors, investment banks, brokers and a range of high-net worth and other private investors. The organisers, Beacon Events and Mining Journal, anticipate that around 750 investment and mining professionals will attend this inaugural event making it the most important conference and exhibition of its kind in the country’s financial capital.
Mines and Money Australia will bring together some of the most influential decision makers within mining companies and the investment community. Already recognised as the best international forum for networking in London, Hong Kong and Beijing, the Sydney event is set to become a fixture in the diaries of mining industry executives and investors.
A main focus of Mines and Money Australia will be on mining company investment spotlights, a commodities outlook and review of investment trends. How to attract foreign direct investment will also be a key theme explored at the event.
The highly-targeted two-day programme will also feature an exhibition of over 80 high-growth junior and mid-cap mining companies, and a conference programme offering keynote presentations, analyst insight sessions, investor panel discussions and up to 44 mining company spotlight presentations.
Highly respected author and professional investor, Doug Casey, chairman of Casey Research, will deliver a keynote presentation at the Mines and Money Australia.
A bestselling author and expert on profiting from periods of economic turmoil, Doug Casey is widely respected as one of the pre-eminent authorities on ‘rational speculation’, especially in the high-potential natural resource sector.
He joins other keynote speakers, CITIC Resources Holdings’ president and CEO Zeng Chen, and Hancock Prospecting’s executive director Tad Watroba, to share his often outspoken views on the state of the global economy and implications for natural resource investment.
The conference will close with the Mining Excellence Awards Gala Dinner on Tuesday evening at Dockside, Darling Harbour, Sydney on 11 October 2011. This annual dinner is a highlight of the event and a chance for the industry to celebrate the past year’s achievements.
The Mining Excellence Awards aim to reward outstanding Australian companies and individuals for their contribution to the global mining industry in the year ending 30 June 2011.Nominations come from around the globe and the winners are voted on by representatives of the international mining industry, including consultants, advisors, media and other professionals involved in the sector.
