Philip Samar is a mining engineer by profession with the Government of Papua New Guinea (PNG). He has served 13 years with the various government agencies responsible for regulating the mining industry and currently is employed by the Mineral Resources Authority as Executive Manager – Development Coordination responsible for managing the delicate balance between mining, exploration, governments and other stakeholders through ensuring fulfillment of commitments under the various mining related agreements and its sustainability. Mr Samar has provided technical advise to the PNG government in the areas of mine development, mine technical audits, project negotiations, landowner liaison, and investment marketing & promotion on many of the mining projects that have come into operation over the last 12 years.
