Warren Gilman has been with the CIBC Group for the past 25 years. Mr Gilman joined CIBC in Toronto in 1985 and was co-founder of CIBC’s global mining group. As managing director, investment banking he advised clients such as BHP, Falconbridge, MIM Holdings, Billiton, Trelleborg and Meridian Gold on IPOs, mergers and acquisitions, strategic direction and capital raisings and his associated transactions have been among the largest transactions in Canadian corporate history. In his current position as vice chairman, wholesale banking, Mr Gilman is directly responsible for all investment and corporate banking in the region. Prior to joining CIBC he worked as a mining engineer in Canada’s high arctic and has extensive experience in gold and base metal mining operations.
