Taking place in association with Mining Journal , Canada Day will give you the opportunity to gather information about mining and exploration companies operating or listed in Canada and learn about the exciting investment opportunities they represent. Susan was the deputy chief executive of the UK Department for Trade and Investment from April 2004 until August 2012. 

From 2002 to 2004, she was director for human resources & change management at the then Department of Trade & Industry.  Before that, from 1999 to 2002, she was first director of export control and then director of export control & non proliferation.  In the latter role, she was also the UK Governor on the board of the International Atomic Energy Agency and the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.

From 1996 to 1999 Susan was the deputy chief executive of the Office for Manpower Economics. Previous posts within the then Department of Trade & Industry have included the nuclear industry; the vehicle industry and trade relations with a number of East European and Latin American relations. Susan was also director of equal opportunities in Cabinet Office from 1989 to 1992.

Susan has an MA in Economics and Modern History from St Andrews University and a certificate and diploma in Advanced European Studies from the College of Europe, Bruges.  Susan also did a Stage at the European Commission.
